Introduction

Welcome to we love fitba. The blog will be reporting on the highs, lows and downright craziness of the 2006/7 scottish football season.

Don’t expect detailed match reports or endless gossip about who said what to who in the latest back page row. You can get that elsewhere. Do expect strong opinions, but also honest and fair comment. Scottish football reporting is dominated by two camps - the Glasgow media, who fawn over the Old Firm at every opportunity, and the non-Glasgow media, who like to bitch at them from the sidelines. It’s time for a different voice.

This blog will focus on the Scottish Premier League, but will also cover Scotland’s attempts to qualify for Euro 2008, as well as the occasional dip into the lower leagues. Scottish football has had a torrid time in recent years, but there are signs the worst might be over. The national side is slowly improving, and last season’s SPL championship proved just how dull the English premiership has become, even if the gulf in money and glamour is probably as wide now as it’s ever been.

Join us. It won’t be boring. And barring freak injury, financial destitution or lawsuits, we’ll be here until the last kick.
